The Volunteer Projects (TVP) is a registered Irish charity and international Development NGO that addresses global Development issues, promotes volunteerism and encourages philanthropy by utilising overseas volunteers. Established in 2008 TVP specialises in recruiting and training staff and students from Ireland's 3rd Level community for short-term volunteer work Placements in Africa.

ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation is in our hostel-style Volunteer House with TV & DVD, stereo, kitchen facilities and hot showers. It also includes a chef, housekeeper, volunteer co-ordinator and night watchman. Breakfast and dinner is also provided.

PRE-DEPARTURE: All our volunteers receive a Welcome Pack with information on where to find flights, VISA and vaccinations. We also provide a Fundraising Pack with sponsorship card, reference letter, t-shirt and Fundraising Guide to help you cover the costs of your overseas volunteer experience. All our volunteers are issued with our Training Pack which is full of info on where to eat, shop, swim and drink, lesson plans, basic Swahili, haggling and much more! We also run regular Training Seminars throughout the year.

PROJECT DATES: Placements start every Monday all year round.

PROJECT DURATION Minimum: 2 weeks Maximum: 6 months Discounts are given on Placements longer than 3 months.

WHO CAN APPLY? Anyone 18 years of age or older can complete a Volunteer Profile (available on our website or by email) to apply.

COST OF PROJECT: A 2 Week Placement costs €565. A 3 week placement costs €660. Additional weeks cost €95 each. Additional costs can include flights, VISA and vaccinations. More information can be found on our website (
