Voluntary Service International (VSI) is the Irish branch of Service Civil International, a worldwide peace movement that began in 1920. We work to promote peace, social justice, sustainable development and intercultural understanding through volunteering abroad and in Ireland.

VSI is a signature to the Code of Conduct for Sending organisations.

VSI has –

International Volunteer Projects - 750 short term projects lasting -2-3 weeks available each year in 60 countries worldwide
European Voluntary Service Programme, an EU funded volunteer programme. VSI is a recognised sending organisation.
Medium/long term volunteer placements - 80 +vacancies each year+ available
Local Voluntary Service in Dublin and Ireland -
There are a wide variety of projects – peace and solidarity, environmental, arts and culture, social etc.
VSI volunteers take part in Preparation workshops before their volunteering and Evaluation Workshops on completion

Costs: Volunteers receive free food and basic accommodation while on the project. Volunteers cover their travel costs and pay a project fee to VSI ranging from €50 for an Irish project to €90 for a European project to €140 for a project in a developing country. There are additional fees to partner groups in the Global South (€100-€250).
