The Community Knowledge Initiative (CKI) fosters community university partnerships that aim to promote the principles and practices of civic engagement and democracy.

Cell EXPLORERS develop and deliver science outreach activities to involve children, teachers, parents and the general public through school visits, exhibitions and visits to science festivals. The Cell EXPLORERS team is largely made up of volunteers, including NUI Galway undergraduate, postgraduate students and research scientists who love to share their enthusiasm for all things science.
To volunteer with Cell EXPLORERS gives you a chance to be involved in a fun, dynamic programme, to gain valuable skills in organization, communication and teamwork and to make a difference on children's perception of science.
